As I write this, I am getting ready to drive to the Precision Aerobatic F3A Worlds in Muncie, Indiana. It seems weird that by the time you read this, we will know who the best pilots in the world are.
The Canadian team is set to go - last minute practice rounds, then packing everything up for shipping. Team Manager, Dave Reaville, has all the pilots licenses, flights booked, motels reserved and vans rented. Now all we have to do is wait to go. I am excited, not only will I get to see the best in the world but, when it's over, I will be competing in the US Nats. for the first time. I am looking forward to meeting all the pilots that I have been hearing about over the past years.
This coming weekend (July 9th and 10th) I should have been CD'ing the Pattern in the Valley contest at the Fraser Valley RC Flyers field in Chilliwack BC, but the mighty Fraser River decided to breech a secondary dike and flood the field. As no one was willing to put floats on their planes, it was decided to postpone the contest until the fall. I hope to have a new date before we leave for Muncie.
The 2011 MAAC Precision Aerobatic rule book has now been updated and can be downloaded from these websites. You will also find new scoresheets to download and use for your contests. An option we included was that you can now type in the name of your contest and date on the form before printing them off.
